”Boss” Charles Vane is a cook and a resident of Kamekame. While being a practitioner of several styles of the Dai Densetsu and a man known throughout the archipelago, Vane doesn’t form part of the nation’s military, simply keeping to himself while working as a Sous-chef of the Epica Gourmet Restaurant, which was previously owned by his mother.
After an attack from the Wung Family, an event that caused him to leave his homeland, Vane currently sails with SeaTuber Monroe Caimie, Banderas Silver, and a few others in their Sea Restaurant, gathering members for their ship and their Mafia organization, PRIDWEN, in which he stands as its leader.[2]
Appearance[]
Vane is a tall and muscular dark-skinned young man, with red slicked back hair, with small strands falling down on his forehead, and red piercing eyes. He has a scar on his right eye and a prominent jaw line.
Vane is usually seen dressed in tight pants and shoes, wearing either an elegant, animal print buttoned shirt or a tight turtleneck muscle shirt, covered by a purple furred coat that he wears over his shoulders. He sports a pair of headphones which when not in use are usually hanging over his neck or waist.

Personality[]
Vane seems to be a calm and collected man, often keeping to himself and reacting casually in most scenarios.[3] When he engages in conversation, Vane seems to go straight to the point, often avoiding to engage in idle talk.[4] He is very protective of his personal space and things, reacting in slight annoyance whenever someone attempts to peer too much into his life or belongings.[3]
Often, he prefers to sit down or lean against a wall with his arms crossed, listening to conversations around him and only interjecting when needed. However, he seems to be easily flustered whenever someone flirts with him or questions about his romantic interests. He tends to scoff and look away to hide his expressions in such situations.
Vane however, can also become quite irritated very fast, especially when he is interrupted or someone close to him is insulted. He can become quite aggressive and bold, speaking his true feelings and declaring his dislike or annoyance towards someone. However, he can quickly recover his composure, recognizing whenever he should avoid confrontation in order to focus on something important.
He seems to refer to his elders as "old man or old hag", which prompts others to chastise him for being disrespectful. Even in the presence of three masters of the Dai Densetsu, he still refers to them in an informal manner and even goes out of his way to try and order them to stop a meaningless argument. Vane is also not above praising someone for their efforts or whenever he's impressed, but at the same time will also confidently declare his superiority towards his opponents. He thinks highly of himself during combat and can let his desire to for adrenaline and his competitive spirit get the best of him.
Vane is a fan of books and science fiction, often comparing real life scenarios to things he has read in stories, such as noting how the E.X.O.S. he defeated would explode like in a stereotypical robots in a comic book.[3]

Monroe Caimie[]
Vane met Monroe Caimie after he rescued her from her shipwrecked ship during a storm. He tended to her wounds and took care of her until she recovered her senses, though he stated that he didn’t change her clothes and place her bandages out of respect for her privacy, opting to call a nurse to do so. After this, the two seemed to have gotten quite close, as Caimie stayed in Kamekame for almost a year, before leaving with Vane due to unknown circumstances.
Vane can get quickly annoyed at Caimie’s flirtatious tendencies, yet remains extremely protective of her. He can be often embarrassed at her calling out his flaws in front of others, yet she seems to be one of the few who can calm him down in moments of rage.
Banderas Silver[]
Silver and Vane seemed to know each other quite well, casually greeting each other and engaging in conversation, due to both being residents of Kamekame and practitioners of Dai Densetsu. While Vane seems to hold Silver in high regard, he can become irritated at her unpredictable nature and lack of respect for personal space. However, he will go to great lengths to aid her, not thinking twice in helping in the defense of her home island during the attack of...
Ming Ryuzan[]
Vane and Ryuzan seem to know each other since the days of Vane’s childhood. Even before Vane’s mother’s death, he viewed Ryuzan as a sort of father figure, often spending time together beyond training. Vane seems to go to great lengths to bring Ryuzan his special meals, even to the point of climbing the mountains to reach the master’s dojo while carrying large quantities of food with him. Same as the others who know him well, Ryuzan seems to know what “buttons” to press to quickly annoy Vane, often ending in the pair engaging in brief scuffles. However, Vane seems to trust Ryuzan with his life, going as far as to trust a complete stranger simply because Ryuzan does as well. He always refers to him as “old man”.
Agricola Kalan[]
Vane quickly became interested in Kalan due to being the head of one of the Five Families of the West, going as far as to declare that he and Kalan would need to talk privately about a certain matter. Even with this, and after witnessing Kalan’s great skill as he dueled Silver with minimal effort, Vane openly admitted his annoyance at the man’s boastful and disrespectful nature, going as far as to step between him and a warrior of Kamekame in case Kalan decided to attack and continue his insults. However, he opted to try and calm the situation down with words, in an attempt to get everyone to focus on the real predicament they had to deal with.
