Doru Doru no Mi is an article written by Zuki2k.

The Doru Doru no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that turns whoever eats it into a Candle Person (ろうそく人間 Kyandoru Ningen?). Previously it was eaten by the late Mr. 3, Galdino followed by Pierrot. Currently, Warbler Beckett is the third known consumer of the fruit.

This fruit is mistakable for a Logia power, however the fruit does not allow the user to transform themselves into wax. In addition, the user is capable of generating a small amount of flame from the top of their head when using their powers, reminiscent of the burning wick of a candle. This flame, while capable of causing fires and melting the user's wax and wax-like body, does not harm the user directly.

Etymology[]

  • "Doru" comes from the Japanese word for "candle" (キャンドル kyandoru?).
  • In the Viz Manga, and the 4Kids and Funimation dubs, it is called the Wax-Wax Fruit.
  • In the Odex dub, it's called the Fruit of the Doru-Doru.

Appearance[]

The fruit bears the appearance of a single white pear, with the top having the appearance of melting wax. The stem also bears this appearance, with two large drips coming off each side. The fruit also bears the typical swirl pattern characteristic of all Devil Fruits.

Strengths & Weaknesses[]

Strengths[]

The fruit allows the user to generate and control a seemingly endless quantity of melted white candle wax, which they can form to their will. When hardened, the wax becomes as tough as steel, and is resistant to poisons and acids which try to degrade it.

Weaknesses[]

The wax remains susceptible to being melted by heat, however, and the user themselves takes on this property as well, sweating wax and feeling extreme discomfort when exposed to high heat. Otherwise, the user is also subject to the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses and drawbacks.

Usage[]

Techniques[]

  • Chandelier (チャンデリア Chanderia?): The user is able to create several sharp candles around him. These candles are as sharp as high-caliber blades. By moving his hands, he launches them towards the target, with the aim of tearing them apart. The speed and force of the blow are enough to pierce stone walls and steel gates, as long as the wax is sharp and in solid form. It is important to note that the user does not need to make precise movements with their hands to execute this technique.
