Goku Goku no Mi is an article written by Haraxmant.

The Goku Goku no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to become a living jail, making the user a Warden Human (看守人間 Kanshu Ningen?). It was eaten by Barbuta.

Etymology[]

  • "Goku" is contained within Gokuri (獄吏?) the Japanese word for "Jailer".

Appearance[]

Strengths and Weaknesses[]

The main strength of the fruit is that it allows the user to become a living jail or prison, the inside of their body holding many cells and other rooms one would expect to find inside of a prison. The user can hold other people inside of their body as well, by shrinking them down as long as they are within the vicinity of the user. In this way, the fruit strongly resembles the functions of the Shiro Shiro no Mi.

The Goku Goku no Mi has shown the ability to seemingly create prison-adjacent materials from their body, such as handcuffs, chains and even barbed wire. It is currently unknown if the materials are created by the user, or already housed within their body.

The user is affected by the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.

Usage[]

As a Bounty Hunter, Barbuta has used the Goku Goku no Mi to imprison his targets before turning them in for a prize bounty. He also uses the fruits ability to sprout prison-adjacent items to create himself makeshift weapons, like utilizing two fence poles as baton. Barbuta has also utilized a pair of handcuffs from his body as a bola to attack an enemy at range.

Techniques[]

  • Creation
    • "Chain Link" - The user can sprout a chain-link fence of various lengths from their body, to which they can extend around any area they desire. This technique is designed to recognize the yard of most prisons, which are surrounded by chain-link fences to separate inmates.
    • "Yard Time" - The user creates barbed wire from their body. As with "Chain Link", this technique is based on the Yard time of inmates, whose fences are often topped with barbed wire to hinder inmates from escaping.
    • "Detainment" - The user creates handcuffs from their body, with various lengths of chain between. This technique is named after the act of keeping someone in prison.
