The Yaki Yaki no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that turns whoever eats it into a Miasma Person. The user becomes able to produce miasma, a foul smelling air that is also known as night air. Yaki is a Japanese word that means "night air". It was eaten by the Marine, Michael.
The Yaki Yaki no Mi appears as a pink lemon that is covered in spirals that look similar to roses, while the inside is brown in colour.
Strengths & WeaknessesEdit
The strengths of this Devil Fruit are that they allow the user to create and control different kinds of miasma. These miasmas can cause the spread of plagues such as cholera, chlamydia, and even the Black Death. Naturally, the user is protected from the diseases they spread through miasma.
One of the weaknesses that is unique to this Devil Fruit is that all the miasmas that they produce smell horribly, something that they are not protected from. Each miasma smells different from each other, but they all smell worse than bad. Another being that the majority of the miasmas created need to be inhaled to have any effect. If the opponent cannot smell the foul odor for any reason, they will almost surely be unaffected. Standard Devil Fruit weaknesses also apply.
Behind the ScenesEdit
- The idea for this Devil Fruit came from the Impure King in Ao no Exorcist.
- Inspiration for the abilities comes from the "miasmatic theory".
- It appears as a lemon with rose patterned spirals because roses and citrus fruits were often used by plague doctors to protect them from miasma, while the inside is black to suggest that it is rotten from miasma.
